Show moreGeorge Lawrence worked as a linotype operator in East or West Haven, CT. He enlisted in the Navy on Feb. 22, 1918 and served as a Gunner's Mate Third Class on the USS Worden. After the war, he became the Mechanical Superintendent at the New Britain Herald Newspaper until his retirement. He moved to Niantic, CT at retirement. He served as Post Commander of the VFW in New Britain and also was a Captain in the Connecticut Home Guard during the Second World War. He and his wife had 5 daughters. Show less
